Escape

Recovering the original forest…

How to play

WASD or arrow keys to walk. Move the captured mouse to look, or use Q / E to turn. On touchscreens, drag to look. Shift to run. M switches between first-person view and the overhead map. Escape releases the mouse and pauses.

Escape pauses. The overhead map marks your position in red.

On desktop, starting the game captures the mouse. Press Escape to release it and pause. Touch controls stay available on mobile.

From the archive

The original forest transforms, material colors, camera background, cube geometry, player spawn, and collision boxes were extracted from the Windows Unity build. The camera uses the recovered pixelizer setting, grain texture, noise intensity, and contrast limits. Its winter ambience, wind, and snow footsteps are recovered from the same build. Snowfall uses the recovered emitter size, speed, lifetime, and rate. Blur, backlighting, and tree tones are calibrated to a surviving screenshot; the camera effects, material response, audio mixing, and movement remain browser approximations. This is the surviving prototype scene; missing levels and objectives have not been invented.
